The AIR BRAKE test was a big success, we are all very happy. We like to modify these jets cause they just fly so good stock, its fun to push them. This air brake experience helps us get a good feel of what to expect in future air brake designs. We now have a starting spot on which to judge all other air brakes.
Here are the modifications I recommend to this Art-Tech Su-27!
1) Bend the back landing gear back so the tail sits lower and nose sits higher. This will allow it to take off in a MUCH SHORTER DISTANCE! (see this done next week)
2) Make the battery compartment bigger and carbon support the nose and front landing gear.
3) Put a 4 cell battery in it! Just go full blast for take offs only!!! Throttle back while flying so you don’t overheat the stock motors. This works fine as long as you don’t get stupid.
This is a great plane and I give it a B+ overall. The misses are it’s just a little lame when it’s set up stock. I would recommended this plane to any advanced EDF flyer who can confidently do the above modifications.
Now that I got mine all set up, I really love it and its one of my TOP 10 favorite EDF jets for sure!!!
